Foreign Investor keen on Indonesia FLNG Receiving Terminal
A number of foreign investors have indicated interest in building floating receiving terminals of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the country, an official said.
Investors from South Korea, Brazil, the Netherlands and Norway have met the government to offer technology and investment in floating LNG terminals, Oil and Gas Director General Evita Herawati Legowo said.
The government will open the door for the investors to bring to reality their plans, Evita said.
Indonesia plans to build two floating LNG receiving terminals in Banten and East Java to facilitate gas distribution to industries, the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia said.
Three state companies - gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, oil and gas company PT Pertamina and electricity company PLN - earlier agreed to form a consortium to build floating terminal in Banten with a capacity of 1.5 million tons of LNG.
