JOETSU CITY, JAPAN: Inpex Corp. will construct a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal at the port of Naoetsu in Joetsu City, Nigata Prefecture, in July.
Naoetsu is a port on the Sea of Japan.
An LNG Receiving Terminal Construction Division has been established for overall project management, replacing the LNG Receiving Terminal Construction Department, part of Inpex’s Domestic Project Division. Managing Executive Officer Akinori Sakamoto has been appointed senior general manager in charge of the new division. The construction office of the new division is located in Naoetsu.
The LNG import terminal will receive LNG from the Minami-Nagaoka Gas field and other assets. By the end of 2013, Inpex expects to have established a “natural gas value chain” that connects domestic infrastructure with its overseas natural gas assets.
