Natural gas certainly has its advantages and for countries such as the USA, it is indeed a great resource that can supply its needs for many more years, but I am not sure if you should add methane hydrates as a possible source. It is still under research and no one knows the economic and environmental impacts of trying to extract these hydrates.

In addition, many environmental groups are also not sure if concepts such as hydraulic fracturing are not safe.

I think the point is this: Fossil fuels have their advantages and they can certainly keep us and our generation happy, but without a doubt, we should invest in renewables to ensure that our succeeding generations are happy too!
